Heroic Nexus Empty Heroic Nexus

Grand Magus Telestra - Has 3 main moves, a Firebomb that hits a target and those around it, an Ice Nova that freezes everyone and a Gravity Well that throws everyone around the room. None are particually hard hitting so healers should cope fine. Be aware that the Gravity Well move does not stop the casting of instant cast spells, so you can still attack and heal with the right moves, Histidine always found it amusing as a druid healer as practically all the heals are instant, so Gravity Well was more of a help then a hindrance as the damage it does is pathetic. At 50% and 10% she will use Split Personality and split into 3 different forms - Arcane (purple), Fire (fire) and Frost (blue). We recommend killing the Arcane form first, as it casts polymorph which can cause wipes if cast on the tank or healer, and timestop which stuns everyone, again causing problems for the healer. Then move onto to Frost form as it casts Blizzard, causing 2k damage every 2 secs in a huge area, and finally finish with the Fire form that just uses high damage attacks. When all the forms are dead Grand Magus Telestra reappears and reverts back to her original moves.

Commander Kolurg - Heroic only boss, accompained by two casters that can heal him, therefore it's best to either CC or kill the healers first. The Boss is a tank and spank, but be aware that he charges the nearest player out of melee range, so make sure this isnt the healer. There are two moves that need to be looked out for - Frighteneing Shout, which fears people in a random direction. To prevent this causing LOS issues and aggroing the mobs further in the room, the tank should kite Commander Kolurg back to the beginning of the room, and tank in the corner of the first part of the ice path. He also does a stationary Whirlwind, which whilst not a huge problem for a tank (hits me for around 6-7k), it can kill or seriously hurt melee DPS, especially classes like rogues that wear leather, so avoid this.

Anomalus - Can be hell for a healer if not managed properly. Anomalus will summon rifts that deal AoE damage and summon adds, so its best if DPS switch to these and kill them and then go back to the boss, otherwise the adds and extra damage cause a lot of party-wide damage. At 25% intervals of Anomalus' health, he will summon and charge a rift, making himself invincible in the process, and will remain this way until the rift is destroyed or 45 seconds have passed, so kill the rift quickly. Apart from that he has a arcane attack Spark that does around 4.5k damage, so the key to this fight is killing the summoned rifts ASAP.

Ormorok the Tree-Shaper - A simple Tank and Spank fight, with only one move to look out for - Crystal Spikes, which summons spikes onto the floor which then erupt dealing damage to whoever is on top of them. These are easily avoidable, as the time between them appearing and erputing is quite long. The tank and melee DPS can also just stand under Ormorok the Tree-Shaper as no spikes are summoned underneath him. Two other moves to take note of are his Frenzy, which isnt wipe-worthy but does increase damage significantly, and Spell Reflect to the joy of all you ranged DPS. Keep an eye on whats going on and this boss is no problem. He also summons adds that usually go for the healer but DPS can easily handle these.

Keristrasza - An interesting fight where a lot of postioning is necessary. She does a frontal conal attack, Crystalfire Breath, and a rear Tail Sweep, so everyone, especially melee DPS, must be on her sides. The move that makes this fight amusing is Intense Cold, which deals damage to all players and stacks constantly through the fight. The only way to remove it is to move which can be problematic for casters and when Crystalize or Crystal Chains is cast, as they immobilize for 10 secs. This can be removed as it is a magic spell, so it is not a huge problem. The best way to deal with this seems to be jumping, as that way you dont accidently stop attacking by moving away, cause her to turn and you can avoid Crystalize by jumping. At around 25% health she will enrage and hit VERY hard. It is highly recommened that you dispel this with a rogue or hunter. If the Intense Cold and Enrage can be dealt with, this is not a difficult fight and has been done on Heroic with just 3 people (myself, Histidine and Mikao)

Achievements
Chaos Theory - Defeat Anomalus in The Nexus on Heroic Difficulty without destroying any Chaotic Rifts. This is rather difficult as the main tactic is to destoy these asap, and only seems feasible with an insane amount of DPS and healing to heal through the Void AoE damage. The adds could be easily wrapped up, but the fight would be a long one as his charge and invincibilty lasts for 45 secs and occurs at 25% intervals of his health.

As of yet, uncompleted in a CSU run.

Intense Cold - Defeat Keristrasza in The Nexus on Heroic Difficulty without allowing Intense Cold to reach more than two stacks. This is not difficult to do if attempted, but a whole group completing it at once would be a challenge, NOTE - it is based on your own level of Intense Cold stacking, so you can get the achievement even if other people stack higher. The only problem getting this achievement, as its recommened you jump constantly to negate it, is when Crystal Chains and Cyrstalize are cast as they root you to the ground. If you are specifically trying to get the achievement this can be solved by having someone remove it as it is a magic spell, but doing this for the whole group would be difficult so it would be better to try and get it for 1 or 2 people at a time. As a pally, i created a self-cleanse macro that i used whemever the immoblizing moves were cast and got the achievement easily.
